Welcome to another year at Gumdale HPC. Please find below some guidelines for muster this year. We have a great year planned including a sidesaddle clinic (March), a polocrosse clinic and a visit from the mounted police to teach us about their training methods (dates TBA). As well as these we will be running our regular musters with a great variety of lessons and instructors. We have a total of eight instructors and trainees on board this year. A big welcome to Emma and Abby (our new members) who have signed on to do their NCAS instructor accreditation!
Generally, musters will run to a set schedule on the 4th Sunday of each month. This might need to change slightly when special events are happening but we will keep you posted about any changes.
Muster will begin UNMOUNTED in the canteen area at 9am sharp. Please arrive on time in correct muster uniform (yellow shirt, beige jods, boots, club saddle cloth, etc) and with a halter and twine to tie your horse. We will do gear check and theory work until 9.30. Three rotations of lessons will then take place as follows:
9.45 -10.30 first lesson
10.30 -11.15 second lesson
11.15 - BREAK
11.45 -12.30 third lesson
12.30 - group activity
1.15 - theory workbook sign off
1.30 - lunch
2pm - monthly general meeting
If you need to leave muster early for any reason, please get permission from an instructor to do so. Of course, regular pony club rules and guidelines for behaviour apply at all times, but we know you will all present the high standard of behaviour that you always do!
It will be a requirement of muster this year that you RSVP to attend. There are a number of reasons for this. First, we must as a club monitor horse movements onto and off of the grounds, and where the requisite paperwork (horse movement record, horse health declarations) are not completed by members, this is an excellent record for us.
Second. it helps us a lot to plan the most effective, efficient and fun coaching if we know who will be coming. As a courtesy to your instructors, please make sure you advise us that you are coming. You can do so by commenting directly on the post about muster in our club webpage (http://www.gumdalehorseandponyclub.org.au/events.html) or by texting or phoning me (Hannah 0439 864 348).
Many thanks in advance for your cooperation on these points - we look forward to a great year at the club!
Hannah
